This video was created by me a few years ago. I made a large slip-n-slide in my backyard so my younger brothers could come over and play. It was a blast and I decided to make a fun video out of the experience. Created with iMovie!
This cute pouch was my first independent project using the sewing machine. I stitched and trimmed all of the edges for a cleaner look and used adhesive velcro to close it.
I have never read anything that has captured my imagination more than the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. I picked up the first book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" when I was in middle school. Initially, I was not interested in reading the series because it was so popular. I resisted stubbornly but eventually one of my sisters got it at the library. I started reading and was completely hooked. At that point in time only the first four books were released, but I devoured them immediately. I would stay up all night to finish the books. I went to the release parties at Borders bookstore for the final three books and finished each of them in less than 24 hours. I now read the entire series nearly every summer for fun. I always find something new and gain a different perspective, emotion, or idea. I have recruited many friends and co-workers into reading the books and they are always happy that I did. I think these books are a wonderful way to get young and old alike to not only read but to feel something, and learn something about themselves.
